About April K. Mills

An engineer by training and a change agent by passion, April K. Mills is the thought leader on “change agency.” She equips busy professionals to deliver legacies of accelerated results. April is the founder and CEO of Engine-for-Change, a boutique consultancy for the world’s top change agents.

April began her career as a civilian nuclear engineer for the U.S. Navy, repairing aircraft carrier and submarine reactor plants. To honor her remarkable results, the Navy awarded her a Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. She also received accolades from John Kotter for her leading-edge application of his Guiding Coalition model. For nearly a decade, April energized Intel Corporation’s global change agents with her bold tactics and her rejuvenation of the timeless principles of Intel’s star CEO, Andy Grove.

April’s legacy of results isn’t limited to the corporate environment. In 2010, she received a YWCA Woman of Achievement Award for championing the construction of a new Navy childcare center. April also led a rapid 3.5-year community effort to design and build a 9,000 square foot beyond accessible playground in Bremerton, Washington, which has now served the community’s children for over a decade.

Change agents worldwide are accelerating their results using April’s two books:

She invests her book sale proceeds into building a rural retreat center for families with children with special needs.
